Mandate for PS Editorial Board, March 2000

The PS Editorial Board will review all PS Divisional Reports intended for external publication, such as for conferences, workshops, academic courses, scientific journals, books, etc. This includes abstracts submitted beforehand to conferences, etc. CERN yellow reports, however, are reviewed by the CERN Yellow Report service.

According to CERN's rules, the Division Leader's authorisation must be obtained before publication, which in the case of PS Division is delegated to the Editorial Board. The purpose of the Board is to ensure that the content and the presentation of the paper are appropriate for the image of PS Division to the outside world. The Board will make suggestions to the authors for improvements or alterations if it feels these are necessary. The paper will normally be submitted to the Board through the Group Leader concerned.

The Board will not act as a translation or editing service, and authors should first have their paper checked by a colleague with an adequate knowledge of the language of the paper. A CERN service exists in ETT Division which may be used for this purpose (contact: Michèle Jouhet).
