1. Follow-up of previous meeting and matters arising

2. Follow-up of the PS complex shutdown work

3. Status of the EURISOL study

M. Lindroos attended the 2nd Town Meeting of the EURISOL project, held in Abano, Italy from 24-25 January 2002 and gave a presentation of the current status and the progress made so far by the EURISOL Task Groups. This project is one of the five Research and Technical Development projects in Nuclear Physics supported by the EU and which aims at completing a preliminary design study of the next-generation European ISOL radioactive nuclear beam facility. The general feeling is that EURISOL will only be built if synergy with other high intensity proton users can be established.

J.P. Delahaye stressed the importance of such projects, in the present framework of reduced resources for R&D work at CERN and opportunities should not be missed to take part in such collaborations, especially as this one is of great interest to ISOLDE and SPL. It is fully supported by the Director of the Accelerator Sector and D.O Williams, the CERN Co-ordinator for the European Union, will be contacted by R. Garoby and M. Lindroos to ensure that CERN requests a role of partner in the project instead of the present status of observer.

4. Industrial Services

F. Perriollat gave a presentation concerning Industrial Services in PS in 2002 with the proposed phases, objectives and methods, teams and management of resources. He proposed to make a 6 month simulation of the billing system (old and new simultaneously), in order to compare differences between the two systems, before adopting the new procedure in September 2002. The teams proposed by the two Industrial Service Groups were also presented.

The PSMB accepted the proposal to carry out a simulation of the billing during the next six months, but the actual date of the switchover to the new system will be decided later on. The taking over of responsibility by the IS Groups, including their proposals for regrouping the teams, was also accepted.
